African Retreat 12 - 21 September 2016
Are you yearning for an adventure? Our Wild at Heart experience is designed to discover your purpose, awaken your joy, ignite your creativity and feed your soul. You'll explore the beautiful coastal town of Knysna along the Garden Route. Knysna is a Khoikhoi word meaning Ferns, and you can expect a bit of everything here - forests, beach, friendly folk, wildlife, beautiful sunsets and spectacular views.
Nestled on the bank of the Crocodile River is Marloth Park, a private game reserve where nature still comes first. Bordering the Kruger National Park, game is free to roam and zebra visit for the occasional apple from your hand. You'll also be taken on a full-day safari in Kruger in search of the Big 5.
Reside in luxury accommodation whilst exploring the stunning coastal town of Knysna in the Western Province of South-Africa. Home to the country's largest indigenous forest, Knysna is famous for its tranquil lagoon, delicious oysters, colourful birds, and the seahorses which breed in the waterways. Knysna is one of the most popular tourist destinations in South Africa, because it offers so much - rest for the weary, adventure for the seeker and spiritual connection with the Universe.
Stay at Jabula Lodge in Marloth Park, a wildlife sanctuary situated on the southern boundary of the Kruger National Park. Marloth has its own wildlife and boasts four of the big five with the exception of elephant, but with the Crocodile river forming the boundary between Marloth and Kruger, you are likely to spot elephant playing in the river. On a good day, you may spot antelope around the house, a visit from a baboon or two, and zebra, warthog, mongoose, and giraffe in the garden too.
One of the highlights of the Wild at Heart African Experience is a blissful day visit to the world famous Kruger National Park, where you'll experience African wildlife at its best. We'll enter the Park at 6am and slowly make our way up to Skukuza Visitors’ Camp, looking for the big 5 and more. We'll be traveling in an open safari vehicle, and enjoy a delicious breakfast and lunch in the Park. Your dream-come-true experience ends with a flight back to Johannesburg to connect to your flight home.
